Vineyard Notes
Established in 2001, the Greenleaf Pinot Noir block is spread over 2.5 hectares with four clones, 114 and 115 on westerly and easterly slopes, two small plots of 777 and MV6 on the south-facing slope at 400-425 metres altitude. This steep vineyard consists of shallow topsoil of sandy loams over clay with quartz and ironstone outcrops. This vineyard is one of the first to ripen in the Adelaide Hills ideal for producing quality sparkling fruit.
Production Notes
Handpicked and whole bunch pressed, this Charmat method Sparkling Rosé is produced using 100% Pinot Noir grapes. The base wine was allowed to ferment dry and then stabilised in tanks ready for yeast-based carbonation. This process involves adding selected yeast and grape concentrate to the wine into a sealed tank and allowing the wine to carbonate naturally. This gives the wine a delicate bead and a rounded biscuity finish.
